[Palsem09] Lectures pour le séminaire / Readings for the seminar

Dear Nicolas,

I have taken a first quick look at the readings you sent to the list.
Of course everyone on the list is free to send readings to it that
they think others will find interesting, and I'm sure that others will
find these readings useful. However, it is not clear to me if you were
proposing any or all of these readings for the packet for the seminar.
If so, I need to point out that the packet for the seminar is meant to
be a common base of departure for our discussions, which means that at
a minimum each of them needs to be available in BOTH English AND
French. Since none of the texts you sent round is available in both
languages, none of them qualifies for the packet. In addition, your
message arrived after the deadline that people were informed of for
proposals; some of the readings do not bear a clear relation to any of
the topics in the seminar programme; and including them would make the
packet larger than I think people could realistically read.

I hope you won't mind therefore if these readings are not included in
the packet and are not photocopied for participants. I would encourage
participants to give high priority to the reading materials on the
list I have sent around.

Comradely,
Peter
